Are the staff or whoever allowed to go through my stuff. I know that storing cash is not allowed.

I'm not familiar with Australian law but if I had that amount of counterfeit Australian currency I would just hide it in the woods or something until you have a proper place. Keeping it in a storage unit just seems like unnecessary risk.
